The loneliest bassplayer you've ever seen!
Matthias is recording a very short part of a very long track and he is feeling unbelievable lonely! So please like the video for a little bit of compassion! ;-) Thank you so much!!
@Matthias: we're with you! ;-)

Rehearsing!
Here we are again! Right now we’re about to finish the last details and rehearsing the songs for the new record. It’s an important part to play together through the songs to get the right feeling for it and see how the music works in it’s whole.
End of August we scheduled the drum recording and then everything else will be recorded very quick ... so that’s the plan so far.
We have taped one of the newest songs during our last rehearsal – it’s still not that easy to get through this thing ;) Have fun!

very short longtrack recording impressions (video)
I finished my keyboard recordings for our next album's longtrack (verylongtrack by the way). Here are some visual impressions of one special part in the middle of this ultra mega super long track...
Have fun with it!
;-)
Best wishes

Vacation, vacation... recording, recording ...
I have some free time during vacation now. As i'm not a sound engineer i have to test a lot to get the right guitar sound... try and error... But i can fortunately combine the test-recordings with making the guide-guitars for the drum recordings. The sound i have now will not be on the album so i'm free to do whatever i want ;)
In the picture you can see my ENGL 1x12 Vintage 30 Cabinet with two mikes, a Sennheise e606 hidden "behind" the Rode NT-1A. I guess every sound engineer shakes his head seeing this, but it works. I'm getting closer to the sound i'm looking for, but there is still much to do!
A little preview of some guitars (this is not a song we'll put on the album!) without any EQing can be found here:

Don't pay attention on the timing ;) i just wanted a straight part to get a rhythm sound.
There is still much to do ... next time i think i get you a short video.
Have a nice easter!

Welcome to the Bass-Universe
I just finished recording the bass for "Waves", using the "Bass-Line Universe". Jaques had already recorded some of his guitars and Seb put some wonderful pianos on it.
So in addition with some basic midi drums I had a great base for recording the bass. I like the song very much, especially the coda where the main themes of the song are fused. Developing this part during our rehearsals for the song had been a great experience and now listening to it with the first instruments recorded is just wonderful. I'm very much looking forward to the song beeing completely produced.
I will add some Bass-Pedal-Sounds to the Coda :-) and hope that Carsten now has a good Guide-Track for recording his drums - Matthias

Preparing the recordings!
Yes! It's true! We're working on a new release which should be released somewhere around october ... or maybe later, who knows. The songwriting is done and we're very excited about the new material.
Right now we're working on the guidetracks for our drummer Carsten and testing some sounds and arrangements.
We will post some updates, photos and videos of the recording process the next weeks and months.
